Happy HOLLIDAY!

So here begins my thoughts on the 2009 MLB postseason. I will try my best to post as many times as I can throughout October and into Novemebr with my feelings on the playoffs, and not just about the Cardinals. Apparently there are 7 other teams playing games as well. Huh? Who knew?

Now I always care about the baseball postseason but my feelings spike to obsessive levels when the RedBs are in the hunt. And after a two year absence Mr. MVP, Jose Alberto and his pals are back playing in October.

And the addition of one special person could very well be the reason for the Cardinals absolutely killing the competition in August and having the division wrapped up seemingly on August 20th. One Matthew Thomas Holliday. While I believe the surge of the Cardinals in August was more thanks to the starting pitching than the offense adding Matt was an incredible boost in a more intangible way. It was a sign to the fanbase, the manager, the players and the competition that this GM, John Mozeliak and the owner, Bill DeWitt, Jr. are committed to winning and winning NOW. And that in itself was an approach that had not been seen since the Larry Walker deal of 2004.
